The idea for Fleetstreets began in 2021, after Chef Alyssa started making British-style meat pies for the family market stand, Nelson & Sons Deli, at the Guelph Farmers’s Market. Partners Alyssa and Keaghan found kitchen space in a few local restaurants to work after hours, however as their baked goods became more popular by the week, it came time to expand.
They began using Guelph’s local shared space kitchen, at 10C Shared Space. After a few months of using this space, they realized that it was yet again, time to expand. Alyssa and Keaghan teamed up with Chailey, owner of Nelson & Sons Deli (and Keaghan’s Dad) and found a small location in the heart of downtown Guelph, on Cork Street, where the local Caribbean restaurant had recently closed, and was now available.
Over the next year, the team, along with help from family and friends, completely redesigned the space. In September of 2022, they opened Fleetstreets, a cozy spot, where you can now find all of your favourite British imported goods, as well as pick up some handmade pies, and other British inspired bakery items.
